US Futures Positive as Santa Claus Rally Extends

US stock futures are modestly higher this morning as European stocks are continuing higher this morning. The Stoxx Europe 600 Index is now flirting with two-year highs. At last check the Dow Jones was indicated about 8 points higher, the Nasdaq 100 was up nearly 5 and the S&P was up about 1.

Investors are waiting for key readings on November pending home sales and initial jobless claims tomorrow. Economists are looking for pending home sales to rise a half percent, with initial claims expected to come in around 415,000.

Unless disaster strikes, December's Santa Claus rally will mark one of the sharpest single month moves higher in quite some time. Since the beginning of the month, the DJIA is up more than 5%.
