United Rentals, Inc. (NYSE: URI) announced that Kenneth DeWitt has been appointed vice president and chief information officer, effective immediately.
Mr. DeWitt has more than 15 years of executive experience leading information technology operations of significant scope. Prior to joining United Rentals, he served as senior vice president and chief information officer for Retail Venture Services, Inc., formerly Value City Department Stores, Inc., the parent company of Filene’s Basement and DSW Shoes. He also served in the same capacity for Brand Technology Services LLC.
United Rentals, Inc. (United Rentals) is an equipment rental company. During the year ended December 31, 2007, excluding its traffic control operations, the Company’s network consisted of 697 rental locations in the United States, Canada and Mexico. [SM]
