Feature Film The Investigator Wraps Shooting

TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Investigator, a film from Gabriel's Messenger Films, has wrapped shooting and is now in editing for a projected June, 2012 completion date.  The movie is about a veteran detective who becomes a high school baseball coach, which leads to the most important investigation of his life.

Shot over a four week period in St. Petersburg, Tampa, and Brandon, Florida, the production involved sets and filming at parks, baseball fields, police stations, courtrooms, schools, ­and churches, including Bell Shoals Baptist and St. Mary Our Lady of Grace.

Producer Nicole Abisinio believes the film has the power to make a major impact on people.  "The Investigator is going to change hearts and strengthen people's spirits during these times of great struggle and difficulty," stated Abisinio.  And Executive Producers Calvin and Cheryl Wang and Mitch and Pam Nunes agree that "the whole thing feels like a dream."

According to Director Curtis Graham the shoot was both a challenge and a great reward.  Says Graham, "The Investigator was such an inspiring movie making experience. I have no doubt it will inspire families in ways very surprising to them."

Once completed, plans for The Investigator call for a limited theatrical release in early Fall, 2012, followed by the launch of the film onto DVD and, later, television.

SynopsisTwenty year veteran investigator Sergeant James Buanacore starts the most important investigation of his life when a drug bust goes tragically bad.  The death of the apparent suspect forces James out of the job he loves and into retirement.

When James' wife Stephanie has a miscarriage, he is devastated and begins to wonder about and question his previously strong faith.  Depressed and angry, James isolates himself until his brother helps him get an interview and he takes a job at the local Christian High School as a part time criminal justice teacher and baseball coach.

With his cop mentality challenging his students, James struggles through experiences with an unsupportive principal, a youth pastor with a secret, and rebellious students.  But when his best option seems to be quitting, a student challenges him to begin the investigation that will change his life, and those of his students, forever.
