First Ever List Of Tomorrow’s 360 Brightest Stars In 12 Fields

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Forbes today unveils its first ever “30 Under 30” listing of tomorrow’s brightest stars, 30 individuals in 12 categories under the age of 30 – who matter – available at www.forbes.com/under30. To compile the list, Forbes asked Forbes readers and 12 star-studded panels of industry experts, ‘Who is reinventing the world? Who should you hire today? Who will you be working for in 20 years? Who, in short, under the age of 30, matters?’

The 12 categories include Art & Design, Energy, Entertainment, Food & Wine, Finance, Law/Policy, Media, Music, Real Estate, Science/Innovation, Social/Mobile and Technology – with some already well-known names, such as Pete Cashmore, the Founder and CEO of the tech news site Mashable, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, and rapper-entrepreneur Mac Miller. On Forbes.com readers can access descriptions of each, as well as links to their LinkedIn profiles, Facebook pages and Twitter feeds.

According to Forbes Executive Editor, Michael Noer, “While many on this list are well-known, others like Danielle Fong, a Canadian-born science prodigy who entered a Princeton Ph.D. program at age 17 before founding alternative energy company Lightsail at 20, are just getting their first taste of the limelight. But it is nearly certain that we will all be hearing much more from them in the decades to come.”

Among the panel of industry experts are: artist Chuck Close; billionaire financier Thomas H. Lee, Stephanie Savage, co-executive producer of Gossip Girl; award-winning chef Daniel Boulud and restaurateur Danny Meyer; Nick Denton, owner of Gawker Media; Daniel Tishman of Tishman Construction; and venture capitalists Marc Andreessen & Ben Horowitz.

A related feature in the January 16 issue of Forbes magazine will offer a portfolio of stunning photographs of a few of the standouts on the list, crafted by renowned lensman Harry Benson (famous for, among other things, his photographs of the Beatles). Among the lucky few: Community actor Donald Glover (a.k.a. rapper Childish Gambino), fashion designer Joseph Altuzarra, Wall Street hotshot Vlad Khandros from UBS and Ronan Farrow, special advisor to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on global youth issues.
