On April 20th, 2010 BP's Deepwater Horizon rig exploded and created an oil leak that will likely be one of the largest of all time. The gusher is leaking between 50,000-80,000 gallons of oil per day and has threatened the Gulf coast and wildlife in the region.
BP has promised to clean-up the massive spill and has already spent $3.5 billion and agreed to establish a $20 billion fund to cover future liabilities.
The Obama administration has caught much heat for the lack of initial response to the spill and many are calling the spill "Obama's Katrina," referring to the Hurricane Katrina disaster which led to public disapproval of former President George W. Bush.
